What AI Advisor does
AI Advisor is a beta assistant available on the Dashboard, Manage Audits, and Manage Issues pages. It can answer questions about the AuditFindings records you can access, review supported attachments, and prepare proposed record changes for your confirmation.
Important: AI suggestions are not automatically applied. Review the proposed changes, confirm that they are correct, and then apply them. AI-generated answers can be incomplete or wrong, so verify important details against the underlying audit or issue.
Before you start
- An administrator must connect an AI provider under Admin > Integrations.
- An administrator must enable AI Advisor under Admin > Manage Company.
- Your role must have access to the audits, issues, and files you want the assistant to use.
Open AI Advisor and start a chat
Open the ✦ AI Advisor button on the Dashboard, Manage Audits, or Manage Issues page. Choose New chat for a separate task. Use History to return to an earlier conversation and Clear to remove the current conversation.
The panel provides suggested prompts to help you begin.
Prompt examples
1. Triage audits
Start with a question that defines the decision you need:
- “Summarize the audits that need attention first and explain why.”
- “Rank the next audit review priorities based on risk, open issues, and overdue work.”
- “Compare audit themes and identify recurring control gaps.”
For a more focused answer, name an audit, department, date range, severity, or status and ask the assistant to cite the records it used.
2. Import audits and issues safely
Use the dedicated import workflow when you need to bring records into AuditFindings. Then use AI Advisor to inspect the imported data and plan cleanup or follow-up. You can also attach an audit report or issue export with Add file and ask the assistant to help interpret it.
- “Review this audit report and identify which items should become issues. Group them by priority and explain the evidence.”
- “Compare the attached issue export with the records in this account and list likely duplicates or missing owners.”
- “Suggest a field mapping for this issue data. Do not change anything yet; show the proposed values and any uncertain mappings.”
- “After the import, find issues with missing due dates, assignees, or priorities and propose corrections.”
When a request could change records, ask for a preview first. Treat the preview as a review queue, not as proof that the change is correct.
3. Update issues with a controlled proposal
AI Advisor can prepare record changes based on your request and the records you can access. Be explicit about the scope and fields you want changed:
- “For the open issues in Audit 0002, propose a priority and due date for each issue using the evidence in the issue description. Flag anything ambiguous.”
- “Propose assigning the unassigned issues in this audit to the control owner named in each finding. Show the issue ID, proposed assignee, and reason.”
- “Draft a concise remediation note for issue AF-1234, but do not save it.”
- “Show me the exact status, priority, assignee, and due-date changes you recommend for the overdue high-priority issues. Do not apply them.”
Before applying a proposal, check the issue ID, current value, proposed value, and rationale. Confirm that the change is appropriate for your organization’s workflow and permissions.
4. Analyze audits and recurring gaps
- “Analyze the high and medium findings across the last three audits and identify recurring control gaps.”
- “Summarize open and past-due issues by audit, priority, and assignee. Highlight the largest concentration of risk.”
- “Compare Audit 0002 with Audit 0007. What themes repeat, and what evidence supports the comparison?”
- “Review the attached evidence and explain which findings appear fully remediated, which need verification, and why.”
Ask follow-up questions to narrow the result: request a table, a specific date range, only open findings, or a comparison of two named audits. If the result matters for reporting or compliance, open the source records and verify the underlying details.
Files and attachments
Use Add file to attach a file to the conversation when you need the assistant to review evidence or an export. In the prompt, explain what the file represents and what output you want. For example: “This is the Q3 audit export. Identify missing owners and return a checklist grouped by audit.” Avoid uploading secrets or unrelated personal information.
Review and apply proposed changes
- Ask AI Advisor to show a proposed change or a dry run.
- Review every record and field in the proposal against the source record.
- Resolve ambiguity or narrow the request before applying anything.
- Confirm the change in the review control. Record changes require your explicit confirmation.
- Refresh the relevant audit or issue list and verify the final values.
Conversation history and troubleshooting
- If AI Advisor is not visible, ask an administrator to verify the provider connection and the AI Advisor setting in Manage Company.
- If the answer is incomplete, name the audit or issue, reduce the scope, and ask for the source records used.
- If a file cannot be interpreted, verify that it is a supported attachment and provide a clear description of its contents.
- Use New chat when the task changes so unrelated context does not influence the answer.
- History is useful for continuity, but re-check current records before acting because data and permissions can change.
