Use Monitoring Activity to keep track of what is open, assigned, changing, due soon, or past due. A good monitoring routine combines the Dashboard, issue and audit filters, alerts, notifications, and reports.
Start with the Dashboard
The Dashboard gives you the quickest high-level view of activity across audits and issues. Use it to spot items that need attention before opening a detailed list.
- Use dashboard filters to focus on All, Assigned, Owned, or Followed work.
- Review priority, status, due date, past-due, and age views to identify risk and timing issues.
- Use filters such as audit, type, department, region, country, or tag when you need a narrower view.
- Select Clear Filters when you want to return to the full dashboard view.
For more detail, see Dashboard Overview.
Narrow the list in Audits or Issues
Use the Audits and Issues areas when you need to inspect specific records, update activity, or follow up with owners and assignees.
- Use Filter/Search to narrow results by audit, status, priority, due date, owner, assignee, tag, or other fields available to your account.
- Use Configure Columns on issue lists when you want the table to show the fields that matter for your review.
- Open an issue to review comments, files, CAPs, verification notes, history, related issues, and current status.
- Follow important issues when you want to keep them visible in your monitoring routine.
For issue creation and follow-up basics, see Adding Issues.
Use alerts and email notifications
Alerts and email notifications help you catch activity without manually checking every issue.
- Select the notification bell to review recent alerts.
- Open Dashboard > Alerts to search alerts and mark items read or unread.
- Admins can review Admin > Notifications for notification rules tied to assigned issues, followed issues, owned issues, additional notified users, key field changes, and CAPs.
- Notification options can include reminders before due dates, comment notifications, update notifications, recurring open-issue reminders, past-due reminders, and summary emails.
Your available alert and email options depend on your role, permissions, and account configuration.
Use reports for recurring reviews
Reports are useful when you need the same monitoring view on a regular schedule or need to share information outside the issue grid.
- Run default reports for common views such as open issues, high-priority issues, past-due issues, and issues grouped by department or other fields.
- Use favorite reports when you return to the same reports often.
- Use custom reports when your organization has a specific review or export need.
For more detail, see Reports Overview.
Suggested monitoring routine
- Open the Dashboard and review assigned, owned, followed, open, due-soon, and past-due work.
- Use Filter/Search in Issues or Audits to narrow the list to the items you need to update.
- Open each relevant issue and review status, assignee, owner, due date, comments, files, CAPs, verification, and history.
- Add comments, evidence, or status updates as work progresses.
- Review alerts and email notifications for new activity or reminders.
- Run reports for recurring review meetings, exports, or management follow-up.
Tips
- Use tags consistently so dashboards, filters, and reports are easier to use.
- Keep owners, assignees, due dates, and statuses current so monitoring views stay accurate.
- Follow the issues you care about most so they are easier to review from the Dashboard.
- Use reports when you need a repeatable summary, not just a one-time filtered view.
