Spreadsheet cells can contain hidden line breaks or enclosing quotation marks. When copied directly from Excel, those characters may also be pasted into an AuditFindings text field.
Clean a single value before pasting
- Copy the cell from Excel.
- Paste it into a plain-text editor.
- Remove unwanted enclosing quotation marks or extra line breaks. Keep quotation marks that are part of the intended text.
- Copy the cleaned text and paste it into AuditFindings.
Import multiple issues
For multiple rows, use Issues > Import instead of copying and pasting each value. AuditFindings accepts .xls, .xlsx, and .csv files and lets you map spreadsheet columns to issue fields.
If the quotation marks remain
- Check the Excel formula bar for hidden line breaks or quotation marks.
- Save the value as plain text and try again.
- Confirm that your browser is current.
- If the problem continues, submit a support request and attach a small sample file that reproduces the issue.
The earlier Chrome-only workaround is no longer required.
